In-app Installation
Qube can make some of its submission dialog available inside your rendering applications like Autodesk Maya or Adobe AfterEffects. Doing so will allow artists to submit to Qube without ever leaving their primary application.
In-app installation is done through scripts built-in to ArtistView. In-app installation scripts are available to users/admins so that they can be modified and/or distributed to every artist machine in your facility.
To perform in-app installation
Simply go to File > Install In-App Submission UI...
, then choose the application for which you would like Qube submission menus installed.
Some in-app installation happens without any user interaction while others require you to select specific directories for the requested application. Follow on-screen instructions to perform the install.
Confirmation of install
When installation has completed, a dialog will be displayed showing results of the install process.
Clicking the "Show Details" button will display all the actions performed during the install.
Verifying in-app install
The location of in-app menus depends on each application.
Autodesk Maya
In Maya, we will see a "Qube!" pulldown menu:
Maxon Cinema 4D
In C4D, the Qube menus will appear under "User Scripts":
Adobe After Effects
In AfterEffects, there are two ways to submit jobs to Qube, either through the "Qube.jsx" Window (which is available under "Window" pulldown menu, therefore you can then dock the window anywhere in the interface as shown below):
or through the File > Scripts menu:
Autodesk VRED
