Qube! 101 This section is intended to help you quickly install and become familiar with Qube! If that's your goal, then head for the Quickstart and the Installing Qube and follow the instructions.
If you are already using Qube! and want a deeper understanding of how it works, or how to use it more fully, then you will want to look through the Users the Render Wrangler's Guide.Admins
If you are managing other people's jobs, or just want to become a power user of Qube!, then the Render Wrangler's Guide is for you.
Finally, admins who need to install or upgrade Qube! in larger installations, as well as render wranglers and others whose interest is in managing large numbers of jobs, should read the Administrator Administrator's Guide.
The parts of Qube!
A Qube! farm has 3 main components:
- The Qube! clients, machines that submit jobs. Typically these are artists or end-users workstations.
- The Qube! workers, machines that run jobs. A client can also be a worker.
- The Qube! supervisor, which controls what jobs are sent to which workers.
